I just wanted to advise all the loved ones of our residents that all staff are now wearing facemasks in order to protect our residents. This is in line with the latest Public Health England and government guidance.

I would like to assure you that we currently have no active Covid cases in the Home and with attention to the application and removal of PPE and handwashing we are trying to keep this risk as low as possible.

The care staff will try and reassure you but I did not want you to be alarmed when you see staff members in facemasks.

This will be reviewed in line with recommendations as and when they are released and we hope we can all get back to some sort of normal soon, although I suspect this may be some time to protect your loved ones, as our most vulnerable residents in society.

You will be aware there are limited activities currently and these must be always in line with social distancing to reduce any risk of transmission of the virus.

We are planning a special lunch for the VE Day celebration for the residents with a sherry aperitif and then a sing along with a small group of residents in the afternoon. We will endeavour to make this a special day whilst still keeping within the restrictions.

Thank you all for your wonderful support, messages of goodwill and goodies to keep the staff going! It is very much appreciated by all the staff. I know this is a very difficult time for you all not being able to see your loved ones as often as you would like and only through the window or via video calls. These have proved invaluable in keeping residents and families in touch.

We are thinking of you all and hoping you are all keeping safe during these uncertain times. We are looking forward to happier times when we can invite you back into the Home as a special part of your loved one’s lives. I thank you also for the confidence and trust in the staff to look after your loved ones at this time. I know this is not an easy time for anyone.

Best wishes

Debbie and Sandra
