Having been a vital part of the Oakwood House team, it’s now time to say farewell to Helen who is seeking pastures new. We’re thrilled to announce that Emma has now joined us and taken on the role of home manager.
Originally from Banbury, Oxfordshire, Emma was awarded her Diploma in Nursing from Oxford Brookes University. It was in 1996 that she made her way to Norfolk and she’s now proud to call Norwich her home.
In Emma, Oakwood House has a hands-on manager who strives to create a homely atmosphere for staff and residents alike. Caring and compassionate, you’ll find that her door is always open and that she’ll always welcome discussions and feedback.
Emma joins us at an exciting time. With Oakwood House winning the Norfolk Care Awards category for Nursing in Social Care, as well as being highly commended in two other categories, Emma is keen to build on this success and to keep moving the home forward.
You can be sure that Emma is committed to ensuring that Oakwood House delivers outstanding service to residents and the local community. By sharing her own knowledge and experience, Emma will be at the fore and push staff to continue with their development so that they can always deliver the very best.
With 10-year experience of successfully managing a local care home, Emma brings a new approach to management at Oakwood House. With a focus on utilising innovative technology and empowering staff to deliver, the aim is to create a more streamlined home environment. This approach will mean that Emma is freed from daily tasks so that the focus can be put on improving the quality of care that we provide. Emma’s experience in collaborating with the local multi-disciplinary teams to ensure residents receive the best personal centred care, will be of great benefit to Oakwood House.
Away from the work environment, Emma enjoys socialising, reading, and taking in Norwich City matches with her son. She is also part of Soul Church and volunteers as part of Soul Foundation.
We hope that you will join us in offering Emma a warm welcome as we support her to take Oakwood House forward.
