Meet the manager
Emma grew up in Banbury, Oxfordshire where she qualified from Oxford Brookes University (in conjunction with Buckinghamshire College of Nursing and Midwifery in Nursing) with a diploma in Nursing. After moving to Norfolk in 1996, Emma now calls Norwich her home.
A caring and compassionate, organized, and supportive person Emma is a hands-on manager who creates a homely atmosphere for both staff and residents alike. Her door is always open for discussion and feedback.
Building on the latest achievements of the team at Oakwood House, in winning the Norfolk Care Awards category for Nursing in social care and being highly commended in the award categories for, collaboration in Care, Delivering Excellence Through Learning and Development of Oakwood House, Emma is committed to sharing her knowledge with staff, continuing to upgrading their skills, and ensuring that Oakwood House delivers superb service to residents in local communities.
Under her new management, Emma would like to focus on making the home more streamlined; using innovative technology and empowered staff, to deliver personal centered care and activities for our residents. She believes that a dynamic management system frees managers from daily work to spend more time on care quality improvement. Emma is also interested in experience sharing between our sister care homes, so that each home can learn best practices from the others.
In her free time, Emma enjoys spending time with friends, reading, and taking her son to Carrow Road to watch Norwich City play. She is also part of Soul Church which she attends on Sundays and volunteers as part of Soul Foundation.
