On Thursday 19th January the Chief Nurse for Adult Social Care, Deborah Sturdy RN, MSc (Econ), CBE, visited Oakwood House. She was accompanied by Dr Jonathan Webster, Associate Facilitator, the Foundation of Nursing Studies, Cheryl Hicks CCG, and Tim Weller, Head of Integrated Quality Assurance.
The visit was organised as part of the Teaching and Learning Programme which the Team at Oakwood House have been participating in; with the chosen focus of End of life care –“Living well until we die.” It was an opportunity to showcase the work we do in social care and to champion nursing in social care. Deborah was very interested to hear what we do as a Team.
After the visit, Deborah conveyed her sincere thanks for being invited to visit Oakwood House and “For sharing the impressive work they are leading.” We featured on Twitter following the visit and look out for other blogs and articles in the future.
