Whether it’s engaging in arts and crafts, enjoying a fun game of bingo, or simply having a sing-along, there’s something for everyone at Oakwood House Care.
Reflecting on Last Week’s February Care Home Activities
Last week, our residents enjoyed a variety of February care home activities, each designed to bring joy and laughter into their days. On Monday, February 10th, we kicked off the week with some pampering time as our regular hairdresser visited in the morning, followed by a lively afternoon of bingo. Tuesdays brought a breath of fresh air with a morning garden walk, followed by creative arts and crafts in the afternoon. Wednesday was a lovely day of reminiscing in the morning, where we looked back on cherished memories, and more crafting fun in the afternoon.
Thursday was flower arranging day, where our residents created stunning floral designs in the morning, and then enjoyed a relaxed afternoon playing games in the lounge. February 14th saw us celebrating Valentine’s Day with sweet treats and friendly conversation in the afternoon.
Our weekend continued with a delightful sing-along on Saturday, followed by a fun game of “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?” in the afternoon. We wrapped up the week with scrapbooking and a casual “Social Sunday,” a great opportunity for our residents to catch up and relax.
Exciting Plans for This Week’s February Care Home Activities
This week, we are continuing to fill each day with engaging February care home activities that both stimulate and entertain our residents. On Monday, February 17th, we started with the hairdresser in the morning and bingo in the afternoon.
Tuesday, February 18th, promises to be a fun-filled day with “Guess Who?” in the morning, where we’ll be looking at old photos and trying to guess the people in them. In the afternoon, we will be hosting a session of singing and gentle exercises, a great way to keep both the body and mind active.
Wednesday, February 19th, will be a creative day with arts and crafts in the morning, followed by a visit from Andrea, a singer who will serenade our residents in the afternoon. On Thursday, we have another enjoyable flower arranging session in the morning and fun games in the afternoon, ensuring plenty of opportunities for interaction and laughter.
Friday, February 21st, will begin with a game of “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?” in the morning, followed by gentle exercises with Joe Smith in the afternoon. This combination of mental and physical activity is perfect for encouraging residents to stay both sharp and active.
Saturday, February 22nd, brings a virtual reminiscing session in the morning, allowing our residents to revisit cherished memories through technology, followed by another sing-along in the afternoon to keep the mood light and cheerful. We will finish the week with “Explore Nature” in the lounge on Sunday, February 23rd, followed by a relaxing “Social Sunday” session in the afternoon for all to enjoy.
