Meet the manager

Helen is a Registered nurse and has a wealth of management experience in Nursing Homes in Norfolk. Prior to joining us, Helen won an award at the 2020 Norfolk Care Awards for ‘Motivational Leadership’ after supporting the turnaround of her previous home from inadequate to a ‘Good’ CQC in just 15 months.

Helen is a highly responsive, supportive, and dedicated manager with a person-centred focus. Helen supports the team to continue to develop the care provision for a happy home environment where everyone’s contribution is valued, whether it be residents, staff or loved ones. Helen has a passion to ensure that those personal relationships for each individual are continued to be supported and nurtured.

Helen is keen to ensure that each staff member feels valued and their individual skills are utilised to strive for a proactive and happy staff team. From January 2022 Oakwood House team are involved in the teaching and learning care home programme focusing on end-of-life care experience (living well until we die). The team have taken this as a whole Home approach to not miss an opportunity to support a positive interaction or make a memory in the last years of our residents’ lives.
