To Oakwood House, our team was extremely proud and honored to have been shortlisted in a number of categories at the Norfolk Care Awards. We’ve always been proud of what we deliver for our residents and their families and seeing the changes that we make is reward enough.
On the 3rd of November 2022, we arrived at the Holiday Inn at Norwich Airport to join the Gala Dinner. It was an honour to attend and to be surrounded by other amazing professionals and colleagues in local area. It was to become a night to remember with award announcements, fabulous friends and cheerful music.
The Nursing in Social Care Award
When it came to the Highly Commended Group Award, we were delighted to be announced the winners of Nursing in Social Care Award. So, what does this award mean ?
Our fabulous team of highly qualified nurses are a vital part of Oakwood House. They support and guide the Team to meet the rapidly changing needs of individuals entering social care. This approach works to prevent residents from hospital admissions and support those who live at Oakwood. The nursing team works alongside the care, catering, and ancillary teams to support responsive person-centered care, acting as a support for all departments. The proactive nursing team at Oakwood work to identify areas where the service can be improved for beneficial outcomes for staff and those who live with us such as wound care, oral care, falls prevention and end of life care. The nursing team lead by example with developing excellent collaborative working relationships with the wider multi-disciplinary teams to benefit care provided, acting as an advocate.
As with everything that we achieve at Oakwood House, this award is about the whole team’s work and dedication. We’re proud of the team that we have put together and how they go above and beyond to provide the very best in care for our residents. This award is the icing on the cake when it comes to recognising just what we do and how we excel in this field.
