October was a busy month at Oakwood House as we celebrated many events. We received some beautiful flowers from one of our former residents. Thank you, Gloria.
Trip Out
Firstly, we took a few residents out in the minibus to Norwich Cathedral for the day. We were greeted by the Cathedral cat and a very nice tour guide who told us many interesting facts. Our tour ended with a light lunch in their restaurant where we were spoilt for choice. A variety of tasty treats all washed down with hot chocolate and coffee. Residents described how lovely it was to have a change of scenery.
Keep up to date on our Facebook page to find out where our next trip will be!
Happy Halloween
We got into the Halloween spirit as we decorated our home with spiders, bats and pumpkins. We also had a Halloween hunt where residents and staff had to solve the clues which were placed around the home leading them to hidden items which they had to seek. Everyone enjoyed this and it is safe to say we had a fang-tastic Halloween!
Breast Cancer Awareness Day
Friday 21st October 2022 was Breast Cancer Awareness Day, so we decided to wear pink to help raise awareness. It was nice for us to show our support to everyone affected by breast cancer and promote its research to prevent it.
Bug Hotel
Residents were so impressed with their Bug Hotel, they felt it needed a new sign, so Wendy, our activities coordinator got her husband to make us one.
Watch out next year as we are going to make bird boxes! Residents are already looking forward to it.
